POSITION TITLE: Residential Maintenance Apprentice (Residential) 
Pay: $17-19/hr DOE

HOURS:  Full Time M-F 7:30am-3:30PM

LOCATION:  Cincinnati, OH

CraftForce is looking for a loyal, trustworthy, and motivated professional with a Maintenance/Painting or "Handy-Man" background to join our client’s team servicing people in need in the Hamilton County area. This opportunity will be great for anyone with painting or maintenance background in residential or commercial settings. This position is considered "entry-lvl" and will transition into a Maintenance Technician position over time. Position Summary:  To provide painting/maintenance for the Client and provide high quality housing to people with disabilities.


  • 11 paid holidays plus 2 weeks vacation!!! (90 days after date*, can carry 80 hrs rollover each year, anything over 40 can be paid out)

Essential Functions:

  • Smooth and prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding and removing old paint

  • Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler

  • Tape, float, and texture walls and ceilings

  • Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection

  • Paint surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers, and apply paint with cloth, brush, sponge

  • Stain, seal, and varnish wood surfaces

  • Erect scaffolding or set up ladder to perform tasks above ground level

  • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment by following established inspection procedures

  • Receive and complete works orders

  • Assist with inventory control of materials and equipment

  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Other duties could include working in other areas of the maintenance department to provide support during absences or shortage of staff

  • Requires flexibility and understanding that all maintenance staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goals of the Maintenance Department


  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull 50 lbs
  • Background checks (FBI & BCI; fingerprinting etc) 
  • Offer is contingent upon background check/Drug Screen

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance (required to have less than 6 points on your license)

  • Must have high school diploma/GED
  • As mentioned, this position will transition into a Maintenance Technician position and will then require mandatory on-call time every 5th week. $200 bonus for the week when on-call. The timeline of this is depending on self progress and success.
