Location: Newport News, VA
Up to $50/hr + $140/day Per Diem + Weekly Attendance Bonus, PTO and Holiday pay

We’re seeking elite pipe welders to join a highly respected team building nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers for the U.S. Navy. If you’ve got Commercial Nuclear and/or Marine welding experience, this is a rare opportunity to be part of a mission that truly matters, while earning top pay and benefits.
This isn’t a quick contract. This is a career move — two years of solid work on a high-profile, nationally critical defense project.
What We’re Looking For:
-
7+ years of experience preferred (minimum of 5 years naval welding experience required)

Expert-level skills with carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper-nickel pipe
-
Confidence interpreting ship piping drawings and blueprints
-
Comfortable working in shipboard environments, ladders, sub-assemblies, and tight spaces
Required Skills:
-
Proficient in multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SMAW
-
Skilled in mirror welding and fusing inserts using SMAW & GTAW
-
Experience with oxygen/propane heating torches
-
Familiar with OSHA shipbuilding safety standards
-
Able to use fillet gauges, butt gauges, and a six-inch scale
-
Strong grinder skills and familiarity with fabrication from blueprints
Welding Qualifications:

All-position certifications in SMAW & GTAW
-
Mirror welding required — No walking the cup!

Ability to weld thin wall sockets under 0.187 wall
-
Must pass hands-on weld tests prior to starting
What You’ll Get:

Up to $50/hour (based on experience)

$140/day per diem paid for 7 days if you work 50 hours a week.

$0.50/hr perfect attendance bonus, paid weekly, PTO and Holiday Pay available
Additional Requirements:

Must be able to read a ruler using inches and tenths

Must pass a hair follicle drug test (3-month lookback)
