Job Title: Field Foreman – Residential Electric
Pay: $18-$25 BOE
Hours: M-F, 7:00am-4:00pm OT as needed

Job Summary: This is a line level supervisor position responsible for the installation and repair of residential electrical wiring, fixtures and related components and supervision of Company and subcontracted work crews. Work is in accordance with the instructions received by a Division Manager.

Receives written diagrams, specifications and oral instructions from a Residential Manager or designee covering emergency and scheduled repairs, installations, and other work to be performed.

Coordinates activities between assigned crew and support departments within the organization. Adheres to project schedules through the efficient utilization of assigned manpower, monitors material usage and orders the same through the warehouse.

Assists in installing and repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, switches, receptacles, relays, fuse boxes, and circuit-breaker panels in accordance with specifications and local electrical codes.

Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.

Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments

Receives notification from apprentice electricians, helpers and subcontracted sub crews of potentially dangerous equipment and/or faulty components and the corrective action taken.

Supervises a variety of ancillary duties such as loading and unloading project materials and carrying the same to a work area at a job site, erecting scaffolding and ladders, holding materials, tools, and supplies, cleaning the work area and removing trash and debris.

Ensures crews adheres to safety policies and procedures, and safe work practices including wearing proper safety gear.

Plans details of work, utilizes time efficiently, and minimizes waste of supplies and materials.

May prepare project reports or complete project related forms.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position is considered to have moderate to heavy physical demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to climb up to 30’ on ladders, work in overhead structures, walk, stand, twist, stoop, bend, squat, and kneel at least 90% of the workday. The employee will occasionally be required to lift, carry and/or move in excess of 100 pounds and frequently be required to lift, carry and/or move in excess of 50 pounds during the normal course of a workday.

Over 90% of the employee’s time will be spent working in a construction environment on residential housing developments. The employee will be exposed to variety of weather conditions common to the local climate. The employee may be required to wear protective headgear, eyewear, ear protection and other personal protective equipment as project conditions warrant.

Minimum Qualifications

Basic Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.

A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the electrical contracting industry.

High school diploma, relevant vocational school training, or completion of a formal apprenticeship training program.

Valid driver's license and driving record suitable to KEP Electric's insurance carrier.

Bi-lingual a plus

Kentucky Masters electrical license a plus
