Inclusive Hiring Practices

  • Partner with organizations and platforms that promote diverse talent to broaden our candidate pool, with a special focus on the skilled trades.
  • Review job descriptions for gender bias and ensure all job descriptions are available in Spanish.

Diversity Training

  • Develop and deliver regular training programs on diversity, unconscious bias, and cultural competency for all administrative employees, including recruiters, managers, and executives.
  • Include case studies and interactive activities to promote understanding and empathy.

Inclusive Policies

  • Conduct a thorough review of company policies to ensure they are inclusive and equitable.
  • Implement flexible work arrangements to accommodate the diverse needs of our employees.
  • Establish equal pay policies to ensure fair compensation regardless of gender, race, or other protected characteristics.

Performance Management and Accountability

  • Incorporate DEI goals into the company’s performance management process.
  • Hold managers accountable for fostering an inclusive work environment and achieving DEI objectives.

Regular Communication and Transparency

  • Maintain open channels of communication with employees regarding DEI initiatives and progress.

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Collect and analyze DEI metrics regularly to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data to inform decision-making and set benchmarks for DEI goals.

External Partnerships

  • Create and endow a scholarship with the American Welding Society to financially support underrepresented groups in the welding industry.
  • Forge partnerships with external organizations that share our commitment to DEI.
  • Participate in industry-wide events and initiatives that promote DEI.

Continuous Improvement

  • Establish a DEI task force or committee responsible for regularly reviewing and updating the DEI plan based on feedback and evolving best practices.
  • Seek feedback from employees through surveys and focus groups to ensure continuous improvement.
