Shipyard Millwright/Machinist – Top Defense Project

What You’ll Be Doing:

You’ll tackle a wide range of responsibilities, including:

 Installing propulsion plant machinery and main engines

 Valve and pump overhaul, lube oil flushing, and system grooming

 Using lathes, boring bars, and precision tools like micrometers

 Fitting, aligning, and blue-checking liners and equipment

AC & refrigeration repairs, boiler operations, and optical alignment

 Working with arresting gear, anchor windlass, steam turbines, and more

 

This role requires strong blueprint reading, deep shipyard knowledge, and confidence with tools from drill presses to portable milling machines. Familiarity with OSHA standards and system cleanliness requirements is a big plus.

 

Minimum 4 years of commercial or naval shipyard experience

Skilled with valve overhauls, mechanical alignments, and hydrostatic testing

Comfortable in a fast-paced, safety-first environment

U.S. Citizenship REQUIRED

Must pass:

 

  • Audiogram

  • Half-Face Respirator Fit Test

  • Hair Follicle Drug Test
